Olympic Doughnuts Footscray - Fine Art Giclee Print
Olympic Doughnuts Footscray - Fine Art Giclee Print
Open edition print of Olympic Doughnuts, Footscray, Victoria. Designed and printed in Melbourne.
Olympic Doughnuts was a Footscray icon. It started out as a hot doughnut van at Footscray Train Station in 1979, serving some of the best hot jam doughnuts in Australia. The store was upgraded following the development of the station, and Nick worked there until he retired in 2017. Sadly Nick passed away in 2021, aged 86. “His doughnuts, jam-dispensing dolphin and colourful life were immortalised in 2015 when filmmakers Ian Tran and Rachel Morssink created the short film Olympic Nick: A Donutumentary, awarded ‘best film’ at Melbourne’s 23rd Greek Film Festival.” - Benjamin Millar, Star Weekly
